London nightlife

I love going out and partying in London is always fun. First of all there are many options out there for different styles. Second of all it is very easy to go out unplanned.

I appreciate beautiful places, great music and good cocktails.

So last Friday night, I unexpectedly went for cocktails at Sushi Samba, or I think it was the bar from the Duck and Waffle restaurant. Either way, it was located at the 40th floor of the famous Heron Tower.

You have such a lovely view from up there, and even just the glass lift is worth the price of your cocktail. You are literally on top of the Gherkin. They do over-charge a bit on service charge I must say… Anyway it was a nice evening of catching up with a new friend.

On Saturday night, and this was already planned, I went with the same friend to Mayfair 41. It is located in the Newbury Hotel and flashes comfy luxury while screaming opulence but in a fashionable manner. I must say the carpet helps if you are wearing high heels. We stayed here for a drink but not much was going on, well I think this is more of a cosy place.

We decided to go to Cirque Le Soir and danced the night away. I was a bit disappointed with Cirque since the refurbishment. There are more places for tables, so more people and the place was really packed. They took out the nice funfair themed alley and instead painted the wall in orange and put the name of the bank (sponsor?) on it… The only interesting part is the photobooth which you can access via a “fridge” door. Well the music was still very good, latest hip-hop beats, and the show lasted the whole night instead of once per hour on the clock.
