Taste of London took place in Regent’s Park from June 15 to 19, and I of course went there last Friday with friends. For all you foodies lovers, this is the place to be! This food festival happens twice a year, once in summer and once in winter.
All the big restaurants and chefs are represented and one gets to taste different small dishes from each stall. Be careful what you crave for! Aha, I planned my visit as I didn’t want to miss the big names and wanted to still be able to enjoy each bite.
It started as a sunny afternoon.
Let me show you my favourite dishes!
Slow cooked lamb shoulder at L’Autre Pied, melting in the mouth!
The two dishes below are my absolute favourites, from Roka:
Kobuta no miso yaki – slow cooked pork belly, lemon, miso and garlic soy
gindara to kani no gyoza – black cod, crab and crayfish dumplings
Club Gascon won best taste of London last year, no wonder why! These French delicacy are so refined.
First dish: Truffled Slow-cooked Egg in the Nest, then Waffle ‘Delicacy’ topped with foie gras ice-cream, and 72-Hour Smoked Rib of Beef
Last dish here is the Spicy ‘Basque’ Grilled Cuttlefish.
Ametsa with Arzak Instruction was equally good.
Top left to right: Tosta de Jamon Ibérico – Iberico Ham Toast, Brocheta de Cerdo con Manzana – Iberian Pork with Apple, Trufon – The Big Truffle, Paella – Ametsa Seafood Paella
Sushi Samba was there, too!
SASA – Shrimp tempura, quinoa, shishito, coriander, spicy mayo, red onion
Kobe bacon nigiri – Ketchup, mustard, mushrooms
The three dishes below are from Aqua Nueva.
Octopus carpaccio with mediterranean dressing
Pork belly with king prawn and chimichurri
Stuffed pastry with goat’s cheese, beetroot, celery & honeycomb
I also tried some desserts!
Delicious “Coup de pates” stand
Chocolate tart and chocolate bavarois, how pretty do they look like?
Macarons, anyone?
After this I also indulged in some ice-cream. Oh, and we also had drinks! You can imagine how full we were.
I didn’t try all the dishes here but shared most of them with my friends. And you, if you have been to Taste of London, what was your favourite dish?
